Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in. After some time to refresh, begin your guided sightseeing tour of Ethiopia's vibrant capital.

Drive to Mount Entoto, the highest point overlooking Addis Ababa, where you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the city. Continue to the National Museum, home to an impressive collection of archaeological treasures, including the world-famous 3.2-million-year-old fossil of Lucy ("Dinknesh"), one of humanity's earliest known ancestors.

Next, visit the magnificent Holy Trinity Cathedral, one of Ethiopia's most important religious landmarks and the final resting place of Emperor Haile Selassie I. Continue to the Ethnological Museum, located within the former palace of Emperor Haile Selassie, where fascinating exhibits showcase Ethiopia's rich cultural diversity and history.

Conclude the day with a visit to Merkato, Africa's largest open-air market, where you can experience the vibrant atmosphere of local commerce and daily life before returning to your hotel for the evening.

After breakfast, begin your journey south through the scenic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Along the way, stop at Tiya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient stelae decorated with mysterious carvings and symbols, offering a fascinating glimpse into Ethiopia’s prehistoric past.

Continue to Wolayta Sodo, where you will stop for lunch before proceeding to Arba Minch, a beautiful lakeside town located between Lake Chamo and Lake Abaya. Surrounded by lush landscapes and breathtaking views, Arba Minch serves as the gateway to some of southern Ethiopia’s most remarkable natural and cultural attractions.

After breakfast, enjoy a morning boat excursion on Lake Chamo, where you will visit the famous “Crocodile Market” area. During the trip, you may have the opportunity to see large crocodiles, hippos, and a variety of bird species along the beautiful lakeshore.

Continue your journey into the Gughe Mountains to visit the Dorze village, known for its unique beehive-shaped traditional houses, skilled weaving traditions, and distinctive cultural practices. Experience the daily life of the Dorze people and learn about their traditional way of living.

After lunch, continue driving south to Konso, a remarkable cultural landscape famous for its carefully designed terraces, traditional settlements, and rich heritage. Konso is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unique agricultural practices and cultural traditions.

Begin the day with a visit to Konso village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its traditional stone-walled settlements, terraced landscapes, and unique cultural heritage. Learn about the Konso people’s traditional farming practices, coffee cultivation, social organization, and clan system.

Continue your journey to visit the Benna people, a semi-nomadic pastoralist community known for their distinctive hairstyles, traditional clothing, and unique cultural decorations, including clay headdresses worn during special occasions.

Proceed to Turmi, the heartland of the Hamer people, where you will experience the traditional lifestyle and beautiful landscapes of the Omo Valley. Turmi is one of the best places to discover the customs, ceremonies, and daily life of the Hamer community.

In the morning, we spend time with the Karo, a small tribe with an estimated population of less than 2,000 people. Raising small cattle and practicing flood retreat cultivation of maize, beans and sorghum, the Karo are an agro-pastoralist society known for their highly-detailed body painting. White chalk paint is the basic material with some use of colored paints derived from natural occurring pigments in local minerals, iron ore and charcoal. Red clay mixed with butter is sometimes used to color the hair. We’ll also see the men of the Karo with scars they have given themselves to represent an enemy or dangerous animal killed.
 After the cultural visit, return to Turmi for lunch before continuing north to Jinka, the gateway to Mago National Park and one of the main cultural centers of the Omo Valley.

Upon arrival in Jinka, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of this beautiful southern Ethiopian town.

Begin the day with an early morning excursion to Mago National Park to visit the Mursi people, one of the most well-known communities of the Omo Valley. Learn about their unique traditions, including their distinctive lip plates, body decorations, and traditional way of life.

Return to Jinka for lunch. In the afternoon Transfer to Jinka Airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival in the capital, enjoy free time for last-minute shopping or relaxation, in the evening  farewell cultural dinner featuring traditional Ethiopian cuisine, live music, cultural dance performances from different Ethiopian communities, and a traditional coffee ceremony.

After dinner, you will be transferred to Addis Ababa Bole International Airport for your international departure, marking the end of your unforgettable Omo Valley cultural journey.
