After breakfast, take a flight with Ethiopian Airlines from Addis Ababa to Bahir Dar. Upon arrival, meet your driver and guide at the airport and transfer to your hotel.
After check-in, enjoy a boat trip on Lake Tana, Ethiopia’s largest lake, to explore its ancient monasteries hidden along the shores and islands. During the excursion, you will have the opportunity to see different bird species, hippos, and the source of the Blue Nile.

After breakfast, drive from Bahir Dar to Gondar, a journey of approximately 180 km through beautiful Ethiopian landscapes. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking scenery before arriving in Gondar for lunch at your hotel.
In the afternoon, explore Gondar, the former imperial capital of Ethiopia founded during the reign of Emperor Fasilides. The city is famous for its remarkable castles and palaces, built by different emperors over a period of more than 236 years. Its unique architecture reflects a blend of Ethiopian, Portuguese, and Indian influences.
Visit Fasilides’ Palace, one of the oldest and most impressive castles in the Royal Enclosure (Fasil Ghebbi), a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Continue to Debre Birhan Selassie Church (Light of the Trinity), renowned for its beautiful frescoes, paintings, and the famous ceiling decorated with angelic faces. According to local tradition, the church was once considered a possible resting place for the Ark of the Covenant.
Finally, visit Fasilides’ Bath, a historic royal bathing pool that remains an important site during the annual Timkat (Epiphany) celebration.

After breakfast, drive approximately three hours from Lalibela to Simien Mountains National Park, Ethiopia’s only natural UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in northern Ethiopia near Debark, the park is one of the country’s most spectacular natural destinations, featuring dramatic cliffs, deep valleys, and breathtaking mountain scenery.
During your visit, enjoy the incredible landscapes and have the opportunity to see endemic wildlife, including Gelada baboons and various bird species.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the Debark area before continuing your exploration of the park.
In the afternoon, return to Gondar for dinner and an overnight stay.

Take a morning flight with Ethiopian Airlines from Gondar to Lalibela. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy lunch.
In the afternoon, explore the magnificent rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This remarkable group of monolithic and semi-monolithic structures was carved directly into the mountainside more than 900 years ago.
The complex features the largest monolithic church in the world, a fascinating network of tunnels and passageways, beautifully carved reliefs, and impressive examples of traditional religious paintings.
During your visit, explore the first group of churches, including:

• Bete Maryam
• Bete Meskel
• Bete Denagil
• Debre Sina and Golgotha
You will also visit the third group of churches, which consists of the iconic Bete Giyorgis (St. George Church).
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony and experience one of Ethiopia’s most important cultural traditions.

After breakfast, continue exploring the second group of Lalibela’s famous rock-hewn churches, including:

After completing the church visit, return to the hotel for check-out and transfer to Lalibela Airport for your flight to Addis Ababa.
Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you will be welcomed by our driver and guide, then begin your journey south toward Lake Langano, approximately 200 km (3–4 hours drive).
Lake Langano offers a peaceful atmosphere with beautiful scenery and a white sandy beach. The lake is known for being free from bilharzia and crocodiles, making it one of Ethiopia’s popular destinations for swimming and relaxation.
After check-in at your hotel, enjoy activities such as swimming, sunbathing, walking along the lakeshore, and bird watching in the surrounding forests.

After breakfast, begin the drive to Arba Minch via Shashemene, a town known for its connection with the Rastafarian movement. Visit the local museum, which showcases aspects of Rastafarian culture and the history of Emperor Haile Selassie I.
Continue the journey through the beautiful landscapes of southern Ethiopia, passing through Sodo before arriving in Arba Minch.
Arba Minch, meaning "Forty Springs," is one of Ethiopia’s most scenic destinations and a gateway to the Omo Valley and Konso regions. The area is famous for its two great Rift Valley lakes, Lake Chamo and Lake Abaya, the beautiful "God’s Bridge" viewpoint, Forty Springs, Nechisar National Park, and its diverse wildlife.
En route, visit Chencha, home of the Dorze people, located approximately 40 km from Arba Minch. The Dorze are renowned for their traditional weaving skills and unique beehive-shaped houses, which are among the most distinctive traditional structures in Africa.
Learn about their traditional lifestyle, agriculture, and cotton weaving practices. The famous Shama cloth produced in the Chencha area is considered among the finest traditional textiles in Ethiopia, including beautifully woven Gabbi robes and colorful Netala scarves.
Explore the vibrant local Dorze market, where you can experience the colors, crafts, and daily life of the community.

After breakfast, enjoy a boat trip on Lake Chamo, one of the highlights of the Arba Minch area. During the boat excursion, you will have the opportunity to see large numbers of hippos and crocodiles from a close distance. Visit the famous "Azo Gebeya" (Crocodile Market), a shoreline area known for its impressive population of large crocodiles.
After the boat trip, continue your journey toward Konso. Visit the Konso villages, known for their beautifully terraced hillsides, traditional stone-walled settlements, fine woven textiles, and unique carved wooden grave markers known as Waga. The cultural landscape of Konso is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Continue driving to Jinka, the gateway to the Omo Valley. Jinka is home to the Ari people, one of the largest and culturally influential ethnic groups in the region. The Ari are known for their agriculture, pottery, traditional crafts, and welcoming nature.
Visit an Ari village and experience their traditional way of life. Some Ari villages are large communities with several streets, featuring traditional bamboo and straw huts as well as mud-and-wattle houses where cooking and sleeping areas are located.

After breakfast, drive to Turmi through the beautiful landscapes of the Omo Valley. Along the way, visit the Banna people and learn about their unique traditions. The Banna boys are known for their traditional skills, including walking on wooden stilts during cultural events.
Continue the journey to Turmi, home of the Hamer people, one of the most welcoming and culturally distinctive communities in the Omo Valley. Visit a Hamer village and experience their traditional lifestyle, including their unique hairstyles, body decorations, colorful jewelry, and customs.
Due to current safety conditions, visiting the Mursi communities inside Mago National Park is not possible at this time. However, we will visit a Mursi community around the Key Afer area, where you can learn about their fascinating culture and traditions.

Today, enjoy a full-day excursion to visit the unique communities of the Omo Valley.
Depart from Turmi and drive to the villages of Murulle, Kolcho, and Dus, located along the banks of the Omo River, to visit the Karo people. The Karo are one of the smallest ethnic groups in the Omo Valley and are famous for their beautiful body and face decorations, especially during traditional ceremonies.
In the afternoon, continue to visit the Dassanech people. To reach their village, cross the Omo River by traditional boat and experience their unique way of life. The Dassanech are known for their strong connection to the Omo River and their traditional pastoral lifestyle.
After the visit, return to Turmi for overnight.

After breakfast, drive southward to Konso, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its remarkable terraced landscapes. The Konso people have developed an impressive system of stone terraces to protect the soil from erosion caused by the region’s occasional heavy rainfall.
Explore the traditional Konso villages, which are surrounded by one to six circular layers of stone walls made mainly from basalt rocks. Learn about their unique culture, traditional farming methods, and community lifestyle.
Konso is also known for producing some of Ethiopia’s finest coffee, grown in the region’s fertile highlands.
Continue your journey to Arba Minch.

After breakfast, drive to Hawassa, the capital city of the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples’ Region, also known as the “Town of Endless Love.”
Located on the shores of Lake Hawassa, the city is surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery and is one of Ethiopia’s most attractive destinations. The lake is home to a wide variety of bird species, and during a walk along the lakeshore, you may have the opportunity to see hippos. Colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, and baboons are also commonly seen around the hotel grounds.
In the afternoon, take an excursion to Senkelle Swayne’s Hartebeest Sanctuary, located approximately 40 km from Hawassa. The sanctuary was established to protect the endemic and endangered Swayne’s hartebeest, one of Ethiopia’s unique antelope species.
Explore the scenic open acacia woodland and look for wildlife, including Swayne’s hartebeest, Bohor reedbuck, greater kudu, oribi antelope, spotted hyena, serval, civet cats, caracals, warthogs, and common jackals. The sanctuary is also home to more than 90 species of birds.
Return to Hawassa for overnight.

After breakfast, enjoy an early morning visit to the famous Hawassa Fish Market, where you can get close to a variety of fish species that are accustomed to human presence. Alternatively, you can spend a relaxing morning at the hotel, along the shores of Lake Hawassa, or enjoy a boat trip on the lake.
Later, begin the drive back to Addis Ababa, covering approximately 280 km with a journey time of around four hours.
En route, stop at the scenic Rift Valley viewpoints and visit the Tiya Archaeological Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you will see the northernmost examples of a unique type of engraved standing stelae found in southern Ethiopia.
These mysterious stelae are believed to have been erected between the 12th and 14th centuries and are thought to have served as grave markers. Recent archaeological excavations at Tiya have uncovered human remains, including young men and women believed to have been buried in a fetal position.
Continue to Addis Ababa and transfer to your hotel.

Day 15: Excursion to Wenchi Crater Lake and Departure
After breakfast, take a day trip to Wenchi Crater Lake, a beautiful natural attraction located approximately 155 km west of Addis Ababa, between Ambo and Weliso.
Wenchi is an extinct volcano with a summit reaching 3,380 meters above sea level. Inside the crater lies a stunning lake surrounded by green valleys, farmland, waterfalls, and natural hot mineral springs. The area is also home to an old monastery and church located on one of the lake’s islands.
Begin the morning drive west of Addis Ababa toward Wenchi. Upon arrival, complete the entrance formalities and meet your local guide before continuing uphill to the starting point of the excursion.
You have the option to hike approximately 4 km down to the lakeshore or enjoy a horseback ride. The trail offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes, green hillsides, local villages, and the peaceful waters of the crater lake.
At the lakeshore, enjoy activities including hiking, horseback riding, and a boat trip to visit the island monastery.
After the visit, return to Addis Ababa. In the evening, enjoy a farewell cultural dinner featuring traditional Ethiopian dishes, local drinks, music, and dances from different Ethiopian ethnic groups. Experience a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony before transferring to Addis Ababa Bole International Airport for your departure.
