For travelers arriving on morning flights, the tour can begin after checking into the hotel. For those arriving in the afternoon or evening, the tour will begin the following day.
After arrival and hotel check-in, begin your exploration of Addis Ababa with a scenic drive to Mount Entoto, offering panoramic views over the capital. Continue to Merkato, one of Africa’s largest open-air markets, where you can experience the vibrant atmosphere and daily life of the city.
Visit the National Museum, home to the famous Lucy fossil and important archaeological discoveries, followed by the Ethnographic Museum, located in the former palace of Emperor Haile Selassie, where you can learn about Ethiopia’s diverse cultures, traditions, and history.
Fly to Bahir Dar, the beautiful lakeside city located on the shores of Lake Tana. Upon arrival, embark on a scenic boat tour across Ethiopia’s largest lake to explore its historic island and peninsula monasteries, known for their ancient manuscripts, colorful murals, and spiritual heritage.
In the afternoon, visit Bezawit Hill, home to the former palace of Emperor Haile Selassie, offering beautiful views over the lake and surrounding landscapes. In the evening, immerse yourself in Hamer culture by witnessing the traditional Evangadi (night dance), a lively celebration featuring singing, dancing, and community gatherings under the stars.
Embark on a full-day excursion to the remote villages of the Karo people along the banks of the Omo River. Known for their distinctive body painting, decorative scarification, and rich ceremonial traditions, the Karo offer a fascinating insight into one of Ethiopia’s most unique indigenous cultures.
