Overview
This 4-day birding adventure focuses on Ethiopia’s iconic Rift Valley Lakes, home to over 500 species of birds, including endemics and Palearctic migrants. Designed for both amateur and experienced birdwatchers, this tour takes you through rich bird habitats such as Lake Ziway, Abijatta-Shalla National Park, Lake Langano, and Lake Hawassa. Itinerary
Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, you will be welcomed by Extraordinary Ethiopia Tours. Morning arrivals may begin the tour the same day, while afternoon or evening arrivals will start the following day. Private transfer to hotel included.
After breakfast, depart southward toward Lake Langano, one of the Rift Valley’s most scenic lakes. En route, stop at the bird-rich Koka Dam and Lake Ziway, both famous for their high density of wetland and aquatic bird species. Keep your eyes open for:
