Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you will be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Use the rest of the day to rest and prepare for your city tour. Dinner will be arranged at your hotel.

Begin your day with a scenic drive up to Mount Entoto, offering panoramic views over the sprawling capital. Descend to explore the National Museum, where you’ll see archaeological treasures including the remains of Lucy, one of the oldest hominid fossils ever discovered. Continue to the Holy Trinity Cathedral, an important spiritual site with magnificent stained-glass windows and the tomb of Emperor Haile Selassie. After lunch, visit the Ethnographic Museum, once the palace of the Emperor himself, offering a deep dive into Ethiopia’s diverse cultures. End your day with a lively stroll through Merkato, the largest open-air market in East Africa.

After breakfast, fly north to Lalibela, Ethiopia’s crown jewel of spiritual and architectural heritage. After lunch, begin exploring the Northwestern cluster of rock-hewn churches: Bete Medhane Alem, Bete Maryam, Bete Meskel, Bete Danaghel, and Debre Sina with Golgotha. Finish the day with a visit to Bete Giyorgis, the most iconic of them all, carved in the shape of a cross and dedicated to Ethiopia’s patron saint, St. George.

This morning, attend a local church service for a spiritual and cultural experience. Then visit the Southeastern cluster of churches, including Bete Gabriel-Rufael, Bete Amanuel, Bete Merkorios, and Bete Aba Libanos, each with distinct styles and symbolism. Return to your hotel for check-out and transfer to the airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival, enjoy a final museum stop (National or Ethnological Museum) before heading to a farewell dinner at Yod Abyssinia Cultural House, featuring traditional food, live music, dance, and Ethiopia’s famous coffee ceremony. After dinner, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your international departure.
