Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, you’ll be welcomed by your guide and begin the scenic drive east to Awash National Park. Upon entering the park, enjoy a game drive through the southern sector, where you can spot oryx, kudu, gazelles, warthogs, baboons, and a variety of bird species. The drive also offers incredible views of the Rift Valley’s dramatic landscapes, including the majestic Awash River waterfall. In the evening, unwind at Doho Lodge, where you can relax in the natural hot springs surrounded by palm groves.

Begin the day with an excursion to the base of Mount Fentale, an extinct volcano. Enjoy a scenic hike along its foothills, offering panoramic views of the park and surrounding lowlands. After a picnic lunch, return to the lodge to relax in the palm-fringed hot springs. In the afternoon, continue to Lake Beseka, a serene volcanic lake known for its flamingos and waterfowl. Nearby, explore Hyena Cave, where—just before sunset—you may witness 20 to 30 hyenas emerging from the shadows. Return to Doho Lodge for a peaceful evening under the stars.

Early in the morning, head to the northern sector of the park, known for its dense palm forests and more remote natural hot springs. This area is rich in wildlife, and you may spot dik-diks, greater kudu, and warthogs roaming freely. Take time to enjoy a final soak in the natural thermal pools before starting your journey back to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival in the capital, you will be transferred to your hotel or directly to the airport for your onward journey.
