Day 02: Fly Addis – Gondar – Drive to Buhit Ras
This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Gondar. Upon your arrival at Gondar set out on a 2.5-hour drive to Buhit Ras in the Simien Mountains National Park . As you travel, you’ll catch breathtaking glimpses of the Simien Mountains, one o f Africa’s largest ranges. The Simien Mountains make up a wild and spectacular region that’s called “The Roof of Africa” with more than a dozen peaks higher than 12,000 feet, including Ras Dashen, the highest peak in Ethiopia.
Three of Ethiopia’s endemic animals are residents in the Simiens:: The Gelada Baboon, the rare Ethiopian Wolf,, and the Walia Ibex. The mountains are also known for cliff-nesting birds of prey, particularly the powerful Lammergeyer. Bring binoculars!! Later you arrive at Simien Mountain Lodge , set on the edge of an escarpment at a lofty 10,700 feet above sea level.

Day 03: Trek Buhit Ras to Sanqaber)
Today you will set out to begin your trek by following the ridge of an escarpment. Incredible views greet you on both sides of the ridge and your path is lined with the area’s unique flora and Fauna, including lot of endemic species of birds. This is one of the most spectacular and diverse landscapes in Ethiopia, and while here, you’re well staged to see the elusive gelada baboon. After approximately five hours of hiking, you arrive at Sanqaber for your first dinner in your basic tented camp. Campsites in the Simien Mountains National Park are public and there may be other travelers sharing your campsite.

Day 04: Trek Sanqaber to Geech
Today’s trek begins on an eastward track that follows a narrow ridge before descending into the Koba River Valley. A highlight of today’s route comes as you catch sight of the Jinbar River and its spectacular waterfall, which is thought to tumble roughly 1,600 feet into a narrow canyon known as the Geech Abyss.
The canyon is thought to be approximately 2,600 feet deep, but knowledge of it and its waterfall’s height have been limited by the area’s remoteness. After admiring the dramatic falls, you’ll cross the river and ascend for roughly two hours to reach Geech and your camp.

Day 05: Trek Geech to Chenek
This morning you will follow a high escarpment to reach the 12,800 – foot Imet Gogo Peak — the trek’s most spectacular viewpoint. After pausing to admire the breathtaking panorama, pass into Korbete Metia, a solid rock wall that eventually opens up to expose views of the lowlands and escarpment. Walia Ibex and Gelada Baboons are routinely spotted along today’s route. After roughly eight hours of hiking, you reach Chenek Camp for much-earned relaxation.

Day 06: Drive from Chennek to Gonder
This day after having eaten breakfast you will return to Gondar by vehicle, after arrival to Gondar will follow the city that once was the royal capital of the Ethiopian Empire. Founded in 1636 by the Emperor Fassiledes. From castles to churches, the medieval city is adorned by medieval styled infrastructure that was constructed by the Emperor along with his descendants..
Visits will also include, the Fassiledes Castle along with the Fassiledes Bath. Once thought to be the grand swimming pool of the Emperor, now known as Fassiledes Bath, is used as a baptism site. Next you will visit the “Debre Birhan Selassie Church”, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was built in the late 18th century by Iyasu I, the grandson of the Emperor Fassiledes, where its walls and ceilings are adorned with rows among rows of winged cherubs that represent the omnipresence of God.

Day 7: Fly Gondar – Addis Ababa
This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Addis and fare well dinner and your departure.
