Extraordinary Ethiopia Tours will meet all clients arriving at the airport regardless of arrival time.  For morning flight arrivals you may begin your tour after checking into your hotel.  For afternoon or evening arrivals, you may begin your tour the following day.

Day 1: Addis Ababa

Well come to Abyssinia, land of origins! You will be whisked off in a modern air conditioned vehicle to your 4-star accommodation in the heart of Addis Ababa. You’ll enjoy sumptuous meal before retiring for some much-needed rest.

Day 2: City Tour of Addis Abeba

Visit The National Museum of Ethiopia for visiting the long age history of Ethiopia and the oldest human ancestor, Lucy. Set within Haile Selassie’s former palace and surrounded by the beautiful gardens and fountains of Addis Ababa University’s main campus is the enthralling Ethnological Museum. Even if you’re not normally a museum fan, this one is worth a bit of your time – it’s easily one of the finest museums in Africa. Before lunch, drive to Holy Trinity Cathedral Church which has unique architectural style immediately after a relaxed lunch, drive up to Entoto Mountains, the best location to observe the panoramic view of the capital. It is also a historical place where Menelik II resided and built his palace.

Welcome dinner at Yod Abyssinian cultural house with live music.

Day 3: Addis Abeba - Arba Minch

Depart from Addis to Arba Minch by Ethiopian Airlines. Lunch at the hotel; descend into the Gughe Mountians to visit the Dorze people, who are known for their tall beehive-like houses and their fine cotton weaving, after the visit drive back to Arba Minch.

Day 4: Arba Minch - Jinka

In the morning, take a boat trip on Lake Chamo to visit the crocodile market and hippo pods after the boat trip, continue driving to Jinka via Weyto (market day Sunday) and Key Afar (market day Thursday).

Day 5: Jinka - Turmi

After breakfast drive to Mago national park to visit the Mursi tribe, who are known for their lower lip and earlobe plates. Afterwards, we will continue driving to Turmi, home of the Hammer people. On the way, stop in Dimeka for the local market, which is on Tuesdays and Saturday. This is one of the most colorful markets in the South Omo and is visited by neighborhood Hammer, Benna, Karo, Tsemai and Ari tribes. At night, see the traditional night dancing of the Hammer people, known as Evangadi.

Day 6: Turmi

Today we will be on day trip to visit the people of the Karo tribe, depart from Turmi to the villages of Murulle, Kolcho and dus on the shores of the Omo River. The Karo people are the smallest in number of all of the tribes of the Omo Valley, and they are known for their elaborate decorations particularly during local ceremonies.

Day 7: Turmi - Konso –Arba Minch

After breakfast drive southwards to Konso village.one of the UNESCO site in Ethiopia know by their terracing in order to protect against soil erosion from the sporadic and often heavy rainfall in the region. The villages are encircled by one to six concentric rings of stone walls, mainly consisting of basalt boulders. One of the best types of coffee for the country is also from this village precede to Arba Minch.

Day 8: Arba Minch –Addis Abeba 

After breakfast you’ll be driven to the Airport for your flight from Arba Minch to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival check back into your hotel, enjoy the amenities; indulge in shopping or optional spa treatments. Later, you’ll enjoy a farewell dinner and traditional live music at one of the best traditional restaurants in Addis Abeba.

Day 9: Departure

It is time to bid Ethiopia goodbye until next time! After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel. You will be driven to Bole international Airport for your flight back to home.
