Extraordinary Ethiopia Tours will meet all clients arriving at the airport regardless of arrival time.  For morning flight arrivals you may begin your tour after checking into your hotel.  For afternoon or evening arrivals, you may begin your tour the following day.

Day 1: Addis Ababa

Arrive at Bole International Airport and our guide will meet you and take you to your hotel.

Day 2: Addis Ababa –Lalibela

Breakfast at the hotel and then drive to the Airport for your flight to Lalibela.

After lunch, you will start visit the world wonders of lalibela rock hewn churches. The churches are classified in three groups. Began from the first and the third group of churches, they include 6 rock churches.

The Rock-Hewn Ethiopian orthodox Christian churches of Lalibela are one of the eighth wonder of the world. It’s a collection of churches, some connected by fascinating internal channels, with hermit holes where people lived and died. The connecting walls are full of religious symbols.

Day 3: Lalibela – Addis Ababa Drive to Ziway

We will wake up early morning to visit the remaining church of Lalibela, we will return to the hotel for checkout, and we will dirve to the Airport for your flight to Addis.

You will meet your Guide and driver at Bole international Airport then you will drive to Ziway.

Day 4:  Ziway - Arba Minch

After breakfast you will visit. Abijatta Shalla National Park. Abijatta and Shalla, which form part of the 887-sq-km national park. Identical twins these lakes are not: Shala’s 410-sq-km surface sits within a collapsed volcanic caldera and depths exceed 260m in some areas, making it the deepest lake in Ethiopia, while Abiatta’s highly alkaline waters rest in a shallow pan no more than 14m in depth. And Abiata is shrinking dramatically as water is diverted to irrigation projects and a soda-ash factory. The increased salinity has killed off the fish and forced most birds to go elsewhere to feed.

Lunch will be Wolita Sodo, Ascend into the Gughe Mountians to visit the Dorze people, who are known for their tall beehive-like houses and their fine cotton weaving, after the visit continue to Arba Minch.

Day 5: Arba Minch - Jinka

In the morning, take a boat trip on Lake Chamo to visit the crocodile market and hippo pods after the boat trip, continue driving to Jinka via Weyto (market day Sunday) and Key Afar (market day Thursday).

Day 6: Jinka - Turmi

After breakfast drive to Mago national park to visit the Mursi tribe, who are known for their lower lip and earlobe plates. Afterwards, we will continue driving to Turmi, home of the Hamer people. On the way, stop in Dimeka for the local market, which is on Tuesdays and Saturday. This is one of the most colorful markets in the South Omo and is visited by neighborhood Hamer, Benna, Karo, Tsemai and Ari tribes. At night, see the traditional night dancing of the Hamer people, known as Evangadi.

Day 7: Turmi- Jinka -Addis Ababa 

Today we will be on day trip to visit the people of the Karo tribe, depart from Turmi to the villages of Murulle, Kolcho and dus on the shores of the Omo River. The Karo people are the smallest in number of all of the tribes of the Omo Valley, and they are known for their elaborate decorations particularly during local ceremonies continue driving to Jinka, lunch will be Jinka and drive to the Airport for your flight to Addis Ababa.

Day 8: Depart to your Home

You will have breakfast at the hotel.

Visit the Ethnographic Museum a great introduction to Ethiopian culture and history. Visit Trinity Cathedral, resting place of Emperor Haile Selassie. Make a short drive to Entoto Hills for an overlook of the city and visit Maryam church on top. En-route, stop at Sheromeda traditional clothe market. Take Lunch at Ethiopia’s oldest hotel “Taitu”. Visit the Mercato, one of Africa's largest outdoor markets, and as time allows, visit other sites of your interest.

Farewell dinner and traditional live music at one of the best traditional Restaurants in Addis Ababa.

Transfer to Bole International Airport for your flight to home.
