Day 01: Addis Ababa
The tour starts with a pick up from your hotel/airport, and then drive to the National Museum of Ethiopia for visiting the long age history of Ethiopia and the oldest human ancestor, Lucy. Set within Haile Selassie’s former palace and surrounded by the beautiful gardens and fountains of Addis Ababa University’s main campus is the enthralling Ethnological Museum. Even if you’re not normally a museum fan, this one is worth a bit of your time – it’s easily one of the finest museums in Africa. Before lunch, drive to Holy Trinity Cathedral Church which has unique architectural style. Immediately after a relaxed lunch, drive up to Entoto Mountains, the best location to observe the panoramic view of the capital. It is also a historical place where Menelik II resided and built his palace. It is notable as the location of a number of celebrated churches, including Saint Raguel and Saint Mary (Maryam Church). The return drive will be via Piazza with an enroute visit to St. George Church and Menelik II Square towards the largest open air market, Merkato. This site will enable you have an experience of shopping in Ethiopia. The tour ends with a drop off at your hotel.

Day 2: Langano
We start the day with a last “game drive” in the National Park. After a meal in the breakfast we shall drive south to beautiful Lake Langano from Addis Ababa , a rift valley lake surrounded by arid acacia savannah. We shall see late evening birds before falling asleep to the oddly oceanic sound of waves crashing onto the sandy beach.

Day 3: Abjata Shalla Park
Breakfast will be both preceded and accompanied by spotting superb new species before we head into the Abbiata-Shala National Park, whose two lakes are dominated by flamingos and pelicans. Some rare species will be amongst the vast numbers of birds here. A short drive will then bring us to , still one of the best birding locations in the country despite ongoing deforestation.

Day 4: Wendo Genet
A morning expedition into the forest above the spa resort will give us plenty of opportunity to spot our target birds for this area. After relaxing in the fine grounds of the hotel during the heat of the day we will focus, with the help of a local bird guide, on locating the shy yellow-fronted parrot.

Day 5: Addis Ababa
Drive to Addis Ababa through the amazing landscape and views and we will be in in Addis. Evening (based on your departure time) farewell dinner party and then transfer to airport for night departure.
